Know Your Enemy

John 8:44 -- Your are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

2 Corinthians 4:4 -- ...whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

2 Corinthians 11:14 -- And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Ephesians 6:11-12 -- Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

1 Peter 5:8 -- Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Think on these things:

1. Anytime we receive input that is not consistent with the Word of God, we can be sure that Satan is trying to deceive and destroy us.

2. There is power in truth, because it is the very essence of God. When we are deceived, we lose our power.

3. We will accept a lie because it appeals to our human reasoning. "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." Proverbs 14:12

4. We are in a battle and the battle is for our minds. Our enemy knows that if he can make us believe a lie, then it won't be very long before we act on that lie.

5. We have a choice of what to input into our minds. The strength to help us make the right choice is called "grace," and that comes from God.
